As you step inside, the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee envelops you, and you'll quickly realize that the heart of this café lies in its expertly crafted beverages. But the café doesn’t stop at coffee; it offers a range of high-quality food options that delight the palate.

Customers have enjoyed a variety of dishes here, from the comforting beef stew with pearl barley to the zesty butter beans on sourdough. The café truly shines in its attention to detail, with even the butter served being of exceptional quality. Tucked away under the arches just by Wanstead Flats, this café really is a hidden gem. The space has an unpretentious charm, with exposed brick and a relaxed, welcoming feel that makes it perfect for a quiet coffee or a catch-up with friends. The coffee itself is fantastic — rich, smooth, and clearly made with care by someone who knows their craft. What truly stood out though was the Basque cheesecake: creamy, delicately caramelised, and tasting exactly as it does in Spain, a little slice of the Basque Country right here in East London. The staff are warm and genuine, the atmosphere easygoing, and the whole experience feels authentic without trying too hard. If you’re near Wanstead Flats and in search of something special, this place is well worth discovering

Lovely little cafe. We had smoked mackerel paté which was really tasty but I did think at nearly £11.00 it was overpriced. I did expect a side salad with it but it was just one slice of sourdough with paté spread on top.

Lovely little cafe run by such kind and helpful people who seem super invested in their customers and wider community. I worked remotely here for a whole afternoon — great vibes, playlist, coffee, and the toastie, panzanella salad and kombucha were all top notch, too. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!

Such a welcoming café with warm & friendly staff, it's very child friendly too. Exceptional flat white (the best coffee in Forest Gate) and fantastic food across the board. My partner had the butter beans on sourdough and I had a delicious beef stew with pearl barley. Even the butter was amazing. I bought a slice of Orange polenta cake to take home, which was also excellent. Well worth making the journey here for lunch/brunch or even just a coffee.

Came around at 11:30am. Soup was piping hot as they came freshly cooked. Cream of parsnips soup was balanced and had a lovely touch with the parsnip crisps. Butter was hard, which was due to the cold weather. Lychee and coconut drizzle was with a sweet glaze, the cake was moist. Would come here again.

Cute neighbourhood Nordic-style café with tasty breakfast options. Hip but not pretentious, and very friendly service. Waffles were excellent (especially the smoked salmon one), but it's a bit of a shame they only seem to have one waffle iron, so they come out one-by-one.
